New Lawyer Education
2009
Online Videos - Watch
the Videos
The online option for the New Lawyer Education (NLE) Program requires you to view
a series of seven downloadable videos. The videos cover a range of topics
relevant to attorneys new to practice in Washington. These topics include: (1) civility and
professionalism, (2) orientation to local practice issues and materials, (3)
basic law office and practice management, (4) balance and lifestyle issues,
and (5) networking. The videos were recorded during the most recent live NLE
Programs held at WSBA offices in December 2008 and May 2009.
The
videos are organized into seven categories. Some categories have more than
one video from which you can choose. You are required to watch one video in
each category to fulfill the requirements of the NLE Program, but you are
free to watch additional videos at any time. The choice of videos is designed
to provide different options most relevant to your interests or planned
practice areas. You can click on any speaker’s name to obtain a brief summary
of their background and experience.
The
videos can be viewed in any order, and in one or several sittings - it's easy
to pick up where you stopped. Just note where you left off and then
fast-forward to that spot when you resume the video.
To get started, just click on the title of the desired video. You can also right
click and save the videos to your computer. A separate viewing window will
appear. When you are finished with each video, return to this page and select
another video until you have watched at least one video all seven categories.
